The resumption of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) has been given another chance as Australian pacer Pat Cummins would not be heading to the UAE to take part in the remaining games of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Cummins has already made it clear that he will not be taking part in the remaining IPL matches, however, no reason has been given after his decision.

"David Warner and Pat Cummins could miss a visit to the West Indies for family reasons - some could follow after a year of bubbling - and Cummins, despite having a multi-billion dollar IPL contract, has already said he will not return to the T20 Tournament this season," the report said.

Earlier Ashley Giles, the managing director of the English men's team, had said England and Wales Cricket (ECB) were planning to change their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 schedule.

The 14th scheduled IPL program is likely to be played in the window from September 15 to October 15 when the Indian Cricket Regulatory Board (BCCI) looks out the 25-day window of the richest league.

"But the purpose of giving the boys a break, say, Bangladesh, would not be to play cricket elsewhere," ESPNcricinfo said.
